Founded in May 2005 in Shanghai and re-located into Suzhou-BioBay in July 2007, Stainwei Biotech is a China- based, venture capital-backed corporation dedicated to discovering, developing and commercializing novel antibody-based therapeutic products for the treatment of cancers and immune-related diseases.
Stainwei has seen substantial growth since it moved into Biobay. It has succeeded in development of its core proprietary HexTM technology for rapid, stable and high level expression of humanized antibody and IgG-fusion protein in mammalian cells, and this technology has lead to an industrial scale production. One of its key products, an antibody with anti-angiogenesis activity, has reached to IND filing stage. In addition, there are more than 7 other innovative therapeutic antibodies in the pipeline under various stages of development.
苏州思坦维生物技术有限责任公司是一获得中国-新加坡苏州工业园区创业投资有限公司(简称中新创投)风险投资的生物科技公司,于2007年7月入驻于新建成的具有国际一流软、硬件设施的苏州工业园区生物纳米园 (Suzhou-bioBAY). 2008年获苏州市科学技术局颁发的“内资研发机构”称号。公司几位主要创办人分别获美国康乃尔大学（Cornell University）医学院,美国纽约大学(New York University)医学院分子肿瘤学与免疫学博士学位。
思坦维公司依靠其自主开发的体外高效表达生产基因工程抗体及重组蛋白质等核心专有技术，目前已研制出多个具有抑制肿瘤血管增生或抗炎症的抗体及重组蛋白质候选药物。
公司同时并已建立众多技术平台，其中包括：
1）抗体人源化技术与平台；
2）哺乳动物细胞高密度培养技术；
3）抗体及重组蛋白在哺乳动物细胞的高效分泌表达及蛋白分离技术与平台；
4）抗体及重组蛋白的体外化学标记及修饰技术；
5）人类移植瘤在裸鼠体内生长迁移模型及抗肿瘤药物的药效学评估。
公司的中长期目标是完成该类抗体及重组蛋白质的临床前期试验(包括体外及动物试验)，在取得临床研究批文后实施并完成临床各期试验。该类抗体及重组蛋白如成功开发成为治疗肿瘤或炎症的生物新药上市销售，将创造出显著的社会效益和经济收益（该类抗体药物如上市，保守估计年销售额至少将在5亿元以上）。
